Easy Margarita Recipes to Shake Things Up

As if we needed a reason to shake up a margarita at home, there happens to be an official day for it and it’s today! National Margarita Day falls on February 22 every year and we’re here for it with these 4 easy DIY margarita recipes to kick off your week!


Watermelon Ginger Margarita


Ingredients:

  • 4 cups cubed watermelon, frozen
  • 3 oz lime juice
  • 3 oz tequila
  • 1 12-oz can Reed’s Zero Sugar Real Ginger Ale
  • Watermelon slices, for garnish
  • Ice, optional

How to make:

  1. In a blender, add watermelon, lime juice, tequila and 6 ounces ginger ale (1/2 can). 
  2. Blend until watermelon is incorporated. 
  3. Add remaining ginger ale (ice if thicker consistency is preferred) and blend until smooth, pour, and serve!

Tanteo Spicy Fig Margarita


Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Tanteo Jalapeño Tequila
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz agave nectar
  • 4-5 muddled figs

How to make:

  1. Muddle figs and combine other ingredients in a shaker with ice. 
  2. Shake well and double strain into an ice-filled glass. 
  3. Garnish with a fig skewer.

Sugar Sunset Margaritas


Ingredients:

  • Sugar for the rim, or salt
  • Crushed ice
  • 1 oz club soda, chilled
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 2 oz tequila, chilled
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 2 oz orange juice
  • 1.5 oz fruit punch, more or less to taste

How to make: 

  1. To make a simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water in a small pan over medium high heat. Add zest of one orange and one lime. Stir until sugar dissolves. Cool and strain.
  2. Juice all of the citrus fruit and keep in separate containers.
  3. Rim a chilled glass with lime juice and sugar, and fill with crushed ice.
  4. Pour the following over ice: club soda, simple syrup, tequila, lime, orange juice.
  5. Stir gently, and top with a splash of carbonated fruit punch soda.

Classic Margarita


Ingredients:

  • Kosher salt
  • Ice cubes
  • 2 oz tequila 
  • 1.5 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz Triple Sec

How to make:

  1. Rim a glass with kosher salt.
  2. Put two big handfuls of ice cubes into a cocktail shaker. 
  3. Add remaining ingredients and shake for 10 seconds.
  4. Fill glass half full of ice cubes and pour contents of shaker over top.
